Mardi Gras Cafe & Marketplace was started by Skip Antonelli and family in 1988. It was opened to fill the void that existed in San Diego for New Orleans foods and supplies. We are the original Cajun Creole Cafe & Marketplace in San Diego. Having lived in New Orleans, we were frustrated at the lack of available products to cook New Orleans foods. Every time we would go back to New Orleans we would look like gypsies coming though the airport with bags & boxes of foods & spices. We have the largest selection of New Orleans products on the West Coast.

We serve hot foods and sandwiches, that can be eaten here or taken out. They include Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Seafood Gumbo, Sausage and Chicken Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee and Shrimp Creole.We also have a large selection of sandwiches, with include Cajun Sausage, Alligator Sausage (Yes! It is real alligator), we specialize in the New Orleans Italian Sandwich, know as the Muffuletta.We also have other sandwiches, please take a look at our menu.

In our New Orleans products line we handle over 400 different Hot Sauces, 3 different brands of New Orleans Coffee and also Cafe Du Monde Beignet Mix. We Carry the complete line of Tony Chaschere Seasonings and Mixes. The complete line of Zatarains Spices and Mixes, all of the Louisiana Fish Fry Products. We carry a full line of Sausages including Andouille, Hot and Mild Cajun Smoked Sausage, Pork Boudin, Seafood Boudin, Crawfish Boudin and Alligator Sausage. We carry Peeled Crawfish Tailmet, Boiled Crawfish, Soft Shell Crabs, Crabmeat, Shrimp and Alligator Filets. We have a large selection of New Orleans  Cookbooks, T-shirts, Masks, Beads, etc.

If you can’t find here you can’t find it in New Orleans either, so you probably don’t need it anyway!
